The International GCSE curriculum is balanced and flexible. Numerous, top international schools in the U.K. follow the British curriculum. The curriculum is divided to suit students who wish to choose between core and the extended curriculum. It enhances students’ freedom to decide what they want, what is good for them, according to their future.
The International GCSE offers, standard skills required in various top universities and companies around the world.
The International GCSE includes examinations, which are also offered at Al-Rushd Independent School, online, as explained.
The most popular British qualifications for 14 to 16-year-olds are the GCSEs and IGCSEs. They allow transitions to the next level, higher education, and professional studies within or outside the learner’s country of origin. They help students:
- Secure a place in one’s university of choice.
- Find better career choices and opportunities.
- Pass the standard language tests for acceptance and to study in another country.
- Develop personal skills to ensure a happy and more fulfilled life.
At Al-Rushd Independent School, the classes are taught online and live, allowing one-on-one interaction with the teachers to understand the syllabus further. It also helps to save a lot of time, effort and money.
The lessons are recorded to ensure that learners, as well as their parents, can access and revise what was previously taught to enhance more learning.
Exam Board
All of the core GCSE or IGCSE subjects we offer follow one or more of the exam boards Edexcel, AQA, and Cambridge making it easy for our pupils to view the syllabus individually. The programme for every subject is both engaging and fosters independent learning and further inquest. We offer a core of 7 GCSE or IGCSE examination courses online, which are offered by thousands of schools in the UK and Internationally. These qualifications comprise reputable transferable skills, required by employers and top universities throughout the world.

Key Stage 4 is an important phase in a student’s academic journey, and the choice of GCSE or International GCSE programs can significantly impact their future. GCSEs are well-recognized qualifications in the UK, and they provide a solid foundation for further education. They offer a broad range of subjects, enabling students to tailor their studies to their interests and career aspirations.
One of the key benefits of GCSEs is their versatility. They are widely accepted by universities and employers, opening doors to a variety of academic and professional paths. Additionally, GCSEs offer students the opportunity to develop critical thinking, research, and time-management skills. SELECTING YOUR SUBJECTS
One of the critical decisions in Key Stage 4 is selecting the right subjects for GCSE or International GCSE programs. The flexibility offered by our programs allows students to tailor their studies to their interests and goals of future career. Every student can choose as many subjects to complete their GCSE/IGCSE exams, in addition to their core subjects. We will also conduct mock assessments to test student ability to go ahead with the main board exams for each subject.
Subjects
Our school curriculum consists of nine subjects, and learners are allowed to choose as many they would like to take including the core subjects.
Maths, English and Sciences, are key to unlocking opportunities as witnessed in the past and in the present.

Core Subjects
Pick up to 7 Core GCSE or IGCSE subjects, which are included in your fees.
Core Science
You can also pick one Science to study, which is included in your fees. You can pick extra Sciences for an additional fee.

You can also choose additional subjects for an additional fee per subject.

(Currently, the school is providing combined science (Biology, Chemistry and Physics) for the GCSE and IGCSE. However, the student is able to choose one science subject for an additional fee)
Optional Subjects
Note: In addition to your core subjects, you can choose your optional subjects from mentioned below. This will be included in your fees. You may also continue with the optional subjects i.e., Arabic language, if you wish to continue the same subject from KS3.
Additional Subjects
If you wish to pursue any additional subjects, we may accommodate your request based on subject availability. This is not included in your fees. Each additional subject will cost £300 per year.
